Selby Winery, Healdsburg, CA

Tasting Notes

This cool-climate Syrah comes from low-yielding steep hillside vineyards planted with the distinguished Estrella clone. Handcrafted and limited in production, the wine has rich, black fruit flavors, excellent structure, subtle hints of spice and a nice smooth finish.

2007 Selby Syrah
Russian River Valley

It’s the best of all worlds when it comes to red wine: It’s spicy, smoky, toasty, fruity, heady and enthralling. It goes well with the food I love or is fine on its own. I’m not sure there’s anything better than a big glass of Syrah, a slice of Cambozola cheese, a baguette and a great book. (Except maybe a second glass of Syrah.)
